Is BOTOX safe?
BOTOX has been used in the United States for over 25 years in various medical applications. BOTOX was FDA approved in April 2002 for the treatment of "Frown Lines". There are no reported systemic side effects reported with the use of BOTOX. In fact, the lethal dose of BOTOX is more than 100 times the recommended treatment dose. Comparing common medications like aspirin and tylenol, the lethal dose of those medications are only 4-5 times the recommended daily dose.
Do BOTOX injections hurt?
There is a small amount of discomfort as the needle enters the skin, but this is generally tolerated very well. The doctors at La Optima can apply a little numbing ointment to minimize the discomfort from the injection. Ice is also used to allow for an "I barely felt anything" experience.
